   În Austria, sfântul Nicolae nu acţionează pe furiş, noaptea, in absconditu, pe ascuns, ci se arată în haine episcopale copiilor şi le oferă cadouri. Mai pune şi în ghetuţe, însă în general se prezintă în persoană. Cel mai cunoscut cântec dedicat lui şi pe care toţi copiii îl cântă cu însufleţire, este cel de mai jos. Pentru cine nu digeră deloc textul german, are în versiune colorată textul englezesc la această melodie.
